On January 28th, the 2022 Winter Olympic venues completed their first ice-making National Indoor Stadium, and they are ready for competition testing. The National Indoor Stadium ice-making project is another perfect answer after Pan-China Sports continued the Winter Olympics curling project venue-Water Cube "Ice-water conversion" ice-making project and dehumidification system project, and the Winter Olympics Avenue speed skating project venue-National Speed Skating Oval CO2 transcritical direct cooling ice-making system project.

Ice making finished at the main competition venue of the National Indoor Stadium

One Hall Has Two Ice Surfaces, "Two Olympic Venues" Upgraded Successfully
There are 15 pieces of ice in the Beijing Zone to undertake Winter Olympics competition and training tasks, and two of them are National Indoor Stadium. These two pieces are ice hockey surfaces that meet the standards of the Winter Olympics, and each of them is a standard ice hockey rink with an area of 1,800 square meters. One is located in the main competition venue for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games Ice Sledge Ice Hockey Event; The other is in its newly built training hall, which is used for athletes' daily training. The two ice rinks have a variety of size mode conversion functions, which can not only meet the size requirements of the 60m * 26m ice hockey rink of the Winter Olympics standard and the NHL standard, but also can be converted into a 60m * 30m ice rink after the game, providing services for figure skating, daily training and various events.
Pan-China Sports Creates "China Speed"
60 days to complete the construction of the bottom structure of two ice surfaces, and 6 days to complete the task of making ice lines.
The construction of the National Indoor Stadium ice rink is divided into two parts: the construction of the bottom layer of the ice surface and the marking operation of ice making. In the construction of the bottom layer of the ice surface, there are 11 layers of structures, such as the structural bottom plate, the sand layer, the thermal insulation layer, the protective layer, the waterproof layer, the fine leveling layer, the sliding layer, the refrigeration pipe layer and the anti-freezing concrete layer. In order to meet the requirements of different competitions for ground bearing pressure, the ice rink is designed as a permanent anti-freezing concrete and a new polyethylene HDPE-100 high-strength pipe ice rink. The grade of anti-freezing concrete on the top of the ice surface is upgraded from C35 to C40, and the bearing pressure of the ice surface is increased by more than 10%.

National Indoor Stadium Ice Rink Construction Site
During the Winter Olympic Games, there is a very high requirement for the smoothness of the ice surface. When paving, the project department specially introduced the Swiss laser paver, and at the same time, with the help of laser ranging and other monitoring equipment, the ice surface structure layer was checked layer by layer to ensure that the error is within 5 mm.
According to Ma Chuan, the project manager of Pan-China Sports at the scene, "It took us only 60 days to complete the construction of the bottom structure of the two ice surfaces.". Efficient ice making, but also to ensure the quality of the ice rink, in the construction process to consider as far as possible to increase the service life of the ice plate, to prevent ice damage, ice rink preparations before ice making is particularly important. Under the guidance of the Chief Ice Technician, the National Indoor Stadium adopts the “2 + 1 + 4” ice rink to gradually cool down. The ice surface drops 5 degrees a day for 2 days from + 10 degrees. When it drops to 0 degrees, it actively maintains for 1 day. After 0 degrees, it drops 3 degrees a day. After 4 days, the measured temperature meets the standard of -10 degrees before ice making.

Pan-China Sports Construction Team joined hands with ice makers nationally and globally to discuss construction difficulties on the spot
The Pan-China Sports Construction Team, together with ice makers nationally and globally, completed the ice-making process of two ice surfaces, bottom ice, spray painting, marking and ice layer in six days. There are four low-temperature ethylene glycol screw ice-making hosts equipped with refrigerant R449 a. The refrigerant has good environmental protection performance while taking into account the performance, which is in line with the concept of green Olympics. The water outlet temperature of the ice-making host is -20 ° C during the competition, so as to ensure that the ice surface temperature can be adjusted between -5 ° C and -7 ° C. The efficient heat recovery system will convert the heat generated in the process of ice making into the heat energy needed for heating the anti-condensation layer, melting the ice in the ice melting pool and cleaning the ice pouring vehicle, so as to further save energy and make the whole ice making system more environmentally friendly.
Dream together, get act together, climb the peak bravely
2021 is the year of "Sprint" and "Decisive Victory" for Beijing Olympic Winter Games. The on site workers of Pan-China Sports have overcome the unprecedented challenges brought by the COVID-19 epidemic in the National Indoor Stadium of ice-making projects. Successfully realize the two key nodes of project completion and first ice making.

National Indoor Stadium takes the efficient use of resources as the core and environmental protection as the principle. In the process of reconstruction and expansion, the green construction mode of maximizing the comprehensive benefits of economy, society and environmental protection (ecology) has been realized by pursuing high efficiency, low consumption, environmental protection and overall consideration. Finally, a comprehensive indoor venue with unique functionality, practicability and aesthetics was built. In the later stage, the National Indoor Stadium will unswervingly follow the planning goal of the General Secretary of 's "Centennial Plan", and take advantage of the momentum of the Winter Olympics to promote the ice and snow cultural movement and promote the construction of a strong sports country.

After the completion of the first ice-making, the work related to the guarantee of the National Indoor Stadium is proceeding in an orderly manner, and it is expected that in April this year, the National Indoor Stadium will hold a series of winter sports events called "Meet in Beijing".
