On August 23, 2024, the National Sports Standardization Technical Committee released GB/T 22517.8-2024 "Requirements and Inspection Methods for the Use of Sports Venues Part 8: Sports Ice rinks". This standard will be officially implemented on March 1, 2025 and will replace GB/T 19995.3-2006 "Requirements and Inspection Methods for the Use of Natural Materials Sports Venues Part 3: Sports Ice rinks".

This standard is a national standard project jointly initiated by the General Administration of Sport of China and multiple authoritative institutions, aiming to standardize and improve the construction quality and usage standards of sports ice rinks nationwide. This standard covers multiple aspects of ice rink design, construction, maintenance, use, and inspection, ensuring that sports ice rinks can meet the needs of various ice sports and provide a safe and high-quality sports environment for athletes and the public.
